Welcome
What an exciting time summer is! Our flower gardens are in full bloom and plenty of vegetables are growing for our own enjoyment and for us to share with our family and friends. The fact sheet “Companion Planting” is a great resource for gardeners who are interested in learning about plants that repel aphids, or why snails and slugs don’t tend to bother garlic. (If nothing else,) this fact sheet also describes the life cycle, use, and flavor of many herbs and vegetable plants. If you’ve noticed that your plants (seem to) needs a little more support in the garden, read “Supporting Herbaceous Plants in a Flower Gardener.” You’ll find tips and tactics for using stakes to support individual plants, stakes and sting to support multiple plants, metal hoops and cages, as well as twigs for a more natural look.
